Education objectives

Promote excellence in the education of students at the Faculty of Computer Science through the integration of professional experiences, cutting-edge tools, and ICT sector methodologies.

Reward the quality and creativity of Bachelor’s and Master’s theses through the “Paula Montoto Castelao Awards for the best Bachelor’s/Master’s Theses applied to industry”, encouraging effort, innovation, and practical applicability.

Facilitate the transition from academia to the professional world through internships offered by the partner company.

Promote applied research in areas of common interest (Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Cybersecurity, Data Engineering, software development, etc.).

Support the development of Bachelor’s and Master’s theses aligned with the company’s strategic technological lines.

Promote collaboration in R&D&I projects addressing technological and societal challenges.

Disseminate results and best practices arising from the Chair’s activities.

Knowledge and technology transfer objectives

This initiative aims to promote excellence in the education of future Computer Engineering professionals, foster innovation and applied research, and facilitate the transfer of knowledge to society and industry.

In addition, the Chair places special emphasis on recognizing student talent through the creation of the “Paula Montoto Castelao Awards for the best Bachelor’s/Master’s Theses applied to industry”, especially aimed at projects focused on Data Engineering and Artificial Intelligence. Professional internships will also be offered to encourage the employment of outstanding students.

Promote knowledge and technology transfer between universities and companies across the different fields associated with the Faculty of Computer Science.

Drive the development of prototypes, products, or technological solutions with direct application in companies or in the ICT sector.

Facilitate the integration of university talent into the labor market through internships.

Encourage the transfer of methodologies and tools developed in academia to industry.
